Going by Fast

Okay, I can't even believe that it is almost May. It is totally freaking me out how fast this year is going by. First of all, Zach and I have almost been married for a year.... what?! THAT has flown by.  And my brother comes home from his mission in less than 2 weeks. And my baby is almost 5 months old. I was feeling a little nostalgic today and went through pictures of Colton the day he was born and he is SO different.  Definitely not that little fuzzy newborn that would sleep all day.

So much has gone on this month!

Like, we went to goblin valley with Zach's family and some friends, and it was really fun.

Colton was sleepy haha

Here is sleepy Colton hugging his daddy

This was Colton's first 4 wheeler ride with is Grandpa. I love how you can only really see his little bald head poking out :)

Then Colton had his first taste of solid food.

He wasn't quite ready for it yet

This is Zach and I at a Jazz game. It was the last home game of the season. It was fun to have a night out!

Okay, Colton scratches himself ALL the time! It is so sad :( When he wakes up in the morning and I see this I want to cry! I cut his nails and put gloves on him and he still wakes up like this. I am out of solutions (and open to suggestions).

Colton's awesome stylin' outfit :) Of course Zach is not a fan of the yellow pants haha.

Colton likes to hold his own bottle when he eats, but he doesn't hold it up very well so I still get to help. Oh, and he only likes to nurse in the morning. When evening rolls around he will scream his head off if I try to nurse him.  Its really frustrating, but I think I have to start accepting that he will not be nursing for much longer :(

After a few weeks we tried solid foods again. It was much more successful.

Until he put his hands in his mouth.

Thats it for now! Next post will probably have pictures with Anthony! Yay!

4 Months Old

My baby is 4 months old! He is finally getting fat rolls and they are the cutest!  He had his 4 month check up today and he is 12lbs 13oz and 24in long.  He is still just a little guy! He is in the 4% for weight and 6% for height.  He did awesome at his appointment and was talking to the doctor the whole time (except for when he got his shots of course).  Colton has the cutest personality and he LOVES to talk and play all the time! Which means I'm always exhausted, but I love it. Anyway we are starting to figure out what he likes and dislikes so here is a quick list!

He LOVES bath time. More specifically bath time with daddy, they have sooo much fun together! He loves being naked so any opportunity he gets to be naked he is happy.

He likes going on walks, except for when he gets sleepy then his head starts bobbling.

He always loves watching TV, which is kind of freaking me out a little bit.

Colton loves playing with toys, he usually just holds them and tries to talk to them.  Its really cute, his favorite toy is his stuffed cookie monster, he'll talk to that forever!

The thing he loves doing the most is talking. He talks NONSTOP, and I love it! He is the noisiest baby
I know.  He talks when he eats, when he is trying to sleep, he talks when he is alone, or when he sees people, and he'll talk to anyone! It is really the cutest thing!  Anyway here is a video of him talking to his favorite toy cookie monster.

Now on to the things that Colton hates. He hates the sun in his face, he keeps his eyes closed all day on sunny days.

He is not a fan of getting his picture taken, just like his dad haha.

He hates the wind in his face, I guess he doesn't know how to breathe when the wind is blowing.  This picture was taken on our trip to Moab and we were on a VERY windy overlook, he didn't have fun. I'm starting to think he just doesn't like being outside in general, but with Zach as his dad that will have to change.

What Colton hates the most out of anything in this whole world is being on him tummy! He screams the entire time, and I feel like a horrible mom when I put him on his stomach! It stinks!

Anyway, that's the list.  I love hanging out with my buddy everyday. These 4 months have been awesome!  They are also extremely hard and tiring, and I've realized that being a parent does not come naturally, and that it is something you have to practice!  But now that I'm starting to get the hang of it I am super excited to see what Colton has in store for us over the next few months!
